The Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA) is providing a behind the tap tour of its Terry R. Hicks Water Production Plant Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The award-winning plant is located at 1693 Freeman Road in Jonesboro. Staff will provide tours of the facility every 30 minutes starting at 10:30 a.m. to show customers how Clayton County’s drinking water is produced and tested.

Along with tours, staff will be on hand to share information on CCWA’s Newman Wetlands Center, public recreation areas and the importance of finding and fixing leaks. CCWA will also have water and refreshments for visitors to enjoy.

Visitors tour CCWA’s Terry R. Hicks Water Production Plant during the 2018 Open House.

“Water is one of the most valuable resources in the world. It’s something that we take for granted until the taps stop flowing. During plant tours, we give customers an opportunity to see behind the tap and learn what goes into this process of bringing that final product to their homes,” H. Bernard Franks, CCWA general manager.
