Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup

Every October, Clayton County Water Authority hosts a Rivers Alive Stream Clean up at a local creek or river to clean up trash, debris and other pollutants.  This is a great community activity for scouts, youth groups, environmental clubs, families and civic groups. CCWA provides trash bags, gloves and a commemorative t-shirt. Though all ages are welcome, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Our 2022 event was held on October 22 at Panhandle Park (10930 Panhandle Road, Jonesboro). Thank you to our community volunteers and CCWA staff who cleaned up around Hurricane Creek! Following the clean up, volunteers enjoyed lunch and learning activities including our What NOT to Flush corn hole game, Enviroscape demonstration and our hit prize wheel!
