Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup
Every October, Clayton County Water Authority hosts a Rivers Alive Stream Clean up at a local creek or river to clean up trash, debris and other pollutants. This is a great community activity for scouts, youth groups, environmental clubs, families and civic groups. CCWA provides trash bags, gloves and a commemorative t-shirt. Though all ages are welcome, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Our 2024 event took place on October 19 at Mundy’s Mill High School (9652 Fayetteville Rd., Jonesboro). Thank you to our community volunteers and CCWA staff who cleaned up around Swamp Creek this year! Following the cleanup, volunteers enjoyed lunch and learning activities including our What NOT to Flush corn hole game, Enviroscape demonstration and our hit prize wheel! Our 2025 Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup is already in the works! The date and location haven’t been set yet but stay tuned for updates coming soon!
Please contact Christopher Bond at 770-961-2130 EXT. 5521 to sign up for the event.
