CCWA Hosting Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day for Clayton County Residents April 27

Spring is here and a great time for Clayton County residents to clean out the old paint, batteries, cleaners or other household hazardous waste that is taking up space. All they need to do is load it up and bring it to the Clayton County Water Authority’s (CCWA) annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – rain or shine.

CCWA’s Stormwater Utility hosts the annual event for Clayton County residents at the W.B. Casey Water Resource Recovery Facility in Jonesboro. Participants will enter at 8890 Roberts Road (off of Flint River Road) and will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or a water bill. Contractor CARE Environmental will unload the items directly from the vehicles and then separate and dispose of them properly.

“Customers often have these items stored in their garage or basement and aren’t really sure what to do with them. This event gives our customers the opportunity to drop off these items free of charge so that we can safely dispose of them and keep them out of our landfill and local creeks,” says Kevin Osbey, CCWA’s Stormwater Utility Manager.

Clayton County residents will be able to drop off the following items free of charge:
