Clayton County Water Authority is excited to announce that we will begin offering annual Project WET educator workshops. On this page, we’ll share information about upcoming workshop opportunities and helpful notes like frequently asked questions.

Join us for the Foundations of Water Education and Water & Earth Systems Project WET Educator Workshop.

  • Date: Friday, June 27
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Check-in begins at 8:00 AM)

What is Project WET?

Project WET is an international program whose mission is to bring water education to the world. The Project WET activities can be applied to Georgia Standards of Excellence to use in classrooms or used in non-formal educational settings like summer camps or club groups.  You can read more about Project WET on the Georgia Project WET website or by visiting www.projectwet.org.

What happens at a Project WET educator workshop?

Workshop participants will be receive the appropriate Project WET guides, learn how to use them, and explore several of the activities within the guides. It is also a great opportunity to network with other educators in environmental science related fields.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be expected to present one of the activities within the guide in order to receive their Educator Certification.

Who can attend these workshops?

These workshops are open to all formal & non-formal educators in Clayton and surrounding counties.

What is the cost for attending this workshop?

This workshop is currently FREE. Participants will be notified if future workshops will incur a cost.

Can I bring a guest?

Only registered participants will be able to attend the workshop.

Will the workshop take place indoors or outdoors? How should I dress for the workshop?

While the workshop will take place mostly indoors, some activities may be done outside. Please wear comfortable clothing & shoes and come prepared for the weather conditions for the day of the workshop.

Do I need to bring anything with me to the workshop?

Clayton County Water Authority will provide all the necessary materials for the workshop including the appropriate Project WET curriculum guides, supplemental materials for the activities on the agenda and lunch.

Some suggested additional items for participants are:

  • A notepad, writing utensil or other desired materials for note taking
  • A reusable water bottle
  • Business cards for networking
  • A positive attitude!

What should I do if I am no longer able to attend a workshop that I registered for?

If you are no longer able to attend the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible. This could potentially provide an open spot to someone on the wait list.
