Behind the Tap Spotlight: Garage Inventory/Warehouse Technician Rhonda Daum

Meet Garage Inventory/Warehouse Technician Rhonda Daum. Rhonda plays a vital role in balancing seamless customer service with the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep our vehicles and equipment running smoothly. Whether its overseeing maintenance orders, managing inventory, or coordinating fuel deliveries, she’s the one ensuring everything operates like a well-oiled machine.

In her role, Rhonda is responsible for creating work orders for every truck and piece of equipment brought into the garage. Once she assigns these orders to the crew, she tracks the job’s progress, ensuring that labor time, repair details, and mileage are recorded accurately in JDE, CCWA’s financial software. Once the crew finishes, she efficiently closes out the orders, keeping everything organized and on track.

In addition to managing work orders, Rhonda assists garage employees by providing needed items and ensuring they are charged to the appropriate budget unit. Her responsibilities also include inventory management, from receiving parts to conducting daily physical counts.

Beyond her core duties, Rhonda assists the garage crew with administrative tasks like purchase card management and timesheet coordination. She collaborates with Warehouse and Procurement staff to ensure timely and accurate automotive inventory deliveries. Rhonda also helps coordinate fuel deliveries, maintain safety standards—including SPOT requirements and regular fire extinguisher inspections—and manages the disposal of used truck tires. Until recently, she was also responsible for creating requisitions and purchase orders for vehicles needing emission testing and handling various other duties, such as time entry for the garage staff.

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Rhonda shares, “I value the opportunity to assist in keeping CCWA’s vehicles and equipment safe and reliable.” The dynamic nature of her role keeps things exciting—every day presents new challenges that require multitasking, prioritization, and quick decision-making. “Each situation demands quick decisions based on its urgency,” she adds, highlighting how the fast-paced environment keeps her engaged.

Rhonda’s journey at CCWA started eighteen years ago in Meter Services. Since then, she’s worked in the Warehouse and now thrives in her current role as Garage Inventory Technician. Her passion and dedication go well beyond the garage – she’s also an active member of our Green Team, where she contributes to sustainability initiatives that support both the environment and our community. Outside of work, Rhonda is a strong advocate for animals and the environment, spending her spare time supporting these causes. #waterprofessional
