Regulations For CCWA Property Archery Season
2010 Archery Season Applications
The Clayton County Water Authority will accept applications from June 7th - August 6th for 90 season guest hunter slots for this year's Archery Season. Preference will be given to Clayton County residents. All slots will be randomly selected. The current application and release form can be found at the bottom of this page.
Lottery Selection for the 90 season hunters will take place on August 11, 2010.
Notification letters will be mailed to selected applicants and fees will be due by by August 31, 2010.
2010 Fees
- Clayton County residents and Employees: $120
- Out of County residents: $180
There will be six (6) hunts in 2010:
- September 24 - 26
- October 22 - 24
- October 29 - 31
- November 5 - 7
- November 12 - 14
- November 19 - 21
- Hunts are for half day on Fridays and full days on Saturdays and Sundays.
- There will be no weekend draws or Fill In Hunting in 2010. Access will be limited to the selected 90 season pass hunters.
- Selected season pass hunters will be allowed to bring one guest per weekend with them. The guest will pay $20 per weekend. Any guests under age 16 are free.
- All sites will be assigned for the full season. Once the 90 sites are assigned, there will be no opportunity for other hunters.
- Check Station opens at 1 p.m. each Friday on the weekends of the scheduled hunts.
Regulations for Deer Hunting on CCWA Property
- Hunters are responsible to insure that they have the proper license; all State
laws and license are enforced and required.
- No firearms are allowed on Water Authority Property.
- Only deer may be harvested.
- Hunters must use personal state issued deer tags.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on Authority property.
- Hunters must check in and out at the designated area. Hunters will be allowed
to use personal vehicles on designated roads. ** No all terrain vehicles
allowed **
- All hunters are required to wear 500 sq. inches of orange above the waist at
all times.
- Hunting areas will be assigned by lottery. Areas will be assigned by CCWA Staff.
- Pre-hunt scouting and hunting is allowed only on specified date and times.
- Bucks must have at least four (4) visible points on one side of their rack to be harvested.
- Portable stands only, no nails in trees. Stands may be placed during pre - hunt
scouting and left until the last day of the hunt.
- All deer must be brought to the check station before field dressed by the
hunter.
- When tracking crippled deer please consider other hunters. Wait until 10 :00
a.m. to start tracking. If you are unsure of other hunters locations check with
personnel at the check station.
- Please remove any flagging tape that you used when the hunt is complete.
- If you intend to give a harvested deer away you must attach a note to the deer
with the following data - name, address, date, hunting license number, and the
person’s name receiving the deer.
- Any hunter who violates state law or special regulations set forth by the
Clayton County Water Authority is subject to losing their hunting privileges on
Authority property, which will result in forfeiture of the hunting fee.
- Any lost and found or illegal hunter equipment found on Authority property is
to be turned over to Clayton County Water Authority or Dept. of Natural
Resources personnel.
- The Clayton County Water Authority is not responsible or liable for loss,
theft, damage or destruction of any person’s property.
- All trash/litter must be self-contained and disposed of properly: Littering is
prohibited.
Our main goal is to reduce the deer herd, all hunters are encouraged to harvest
does.
