Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on April 22

Every spring on the fourth Saturday in April, CCWA sponsors a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at the W.B. Casey Water Reclamation Facility in Jonesboro. This free event is only open to Clayton County residents and allows them to drop off a wide variety of items we often have stored somewhere around the house that have a detrimental affect on our environment. Clayton County residents are able to dispose of household paints, pesticides, herbicides, bleaches, chlorine, drain cleaners, motor oil, transmission fluid, fluorescent bulbs, fire extinguishers, oven cleaners, propane and butane tanks, automotive and household batteries, aerosols, insect sprays and rodent killers and over-the-counter or prescription medications.
